Delaware's law requiring coverage of autism therapies
On December 11, 2012, Delaware's law requiring coverage of autism therapies went into effect. All Delaware regulated plans that are issued or renewed on or after this date MUST cover autism therapies as outlined in the new law, including all plans in the insurance marketplaces established under the Affordable Care Act.
Autism Delaware continues to advocate and monitor the implementation to ensure as smooth a transition as possible. However, this is a new area for insurers, providers, and families, so please be patient and expect that there will be some growing pains. If your insurance plan is a state-regulated one that falls under the new law, please report any problems you have here.
