Direct Support Professional (DSP), Part-Time and Full-Time

We have immediate openings for full- and part-time work with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Successful applicants will develop and provide support strategies associated with placing and supporting people with unique abilities to help them find employment and participate in their communities through interning, volunteering and recreation. Autism Delaware provides the best services possible to our participants while allowing our DSP’s to use their skills, strengths, and talents to enrich the lives of those we support.

Responsibilities

β€” support individual in their communities to reach their goals

β€” ensure health and wellness

β€” advocate for those we support

β€” network in the community

β€” implement and follow formal training plans

β€” conduct task analysis and collect performance data

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have the ability to adapt to diverse work situations and possess strong written and oral communication skills.

They also must:

β€” be 18 years of age or older

β€” have proof of high school diploma or equivalent

β€” possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance

β€” pass all background checks

β€” have full range of motion and physical strength

β€” have the ability to successfully complete paid trainings and certifications.

Preferred Qualifications include:

β€” have completed coursework and/or degree in human services related field

β€” have one year experience supporting people with disabilities and/or mental health needs.

Pay:Β 

β€” vocational DSP – starting hourly rate is $16 per hour and eligible for an hourly rate increase upon successful completion of 90 days

β€” residential DSP – starting hourly rate is $17 per hour and eligible for an hourly rate increase upon successful completion of 90 days

β€” full-time and part-time positions are eligible for sign on bonuses
