Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Part-Time and Full-Time
Autism Delaware seeks flexible and dedicated individuals to work as direct support professionals (DSPs) in the New Castle County area.
We have immediate openings for full- and part-time work with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Successful applicants will develop and provide support strategies associated with placing and supporting people with unique abilities to help them find employment and participate in their communities through interning, volunteering and recreation. Autism Delaware provides the best services possible to our participants while allowing our DSP’s to use their skills, strengths, and talents to enrich the lives of those we support.

Candidates must have the ability to adapt to diverse work situations and possess strong written and oral communication skills.
They also must:
— be 18 years of age or older
— have proof of high school diploma or equivalent
— possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
— pass all background checks
— have full range of motion and physical strength
— have the ability to successfully complete paid trainings and certifications.
Preferred Qualifications include:
— have completed coursework and/or degree in human services related field
— have one year experience supporting people with disabilities and/or mental health needs.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
COVID-19 considerations: Staff are required to wear a face covering while providing direct supports.

Parent-to-Parent Training Facilitator, Part-Time, Autism Delaware
Are you the parent of an individual with autism spectrum disorder? Do you have a passion for helping other families and want to work a flexible schedule as part of a team? Do you enjoy speaking to groups? If so, this position may be for you! Delaware’s leading statewide nonprofit agency serving the autism community seeks a parent/guardian of an individual with autism spectrum disorder to co-facilitate parent workshops across the state. The part-time Parent-to-Parent Workshop Facilitator is an essential team member who will work with the Parent-to-Parent Training Coordinator to schedule and facilitate department approved training workshops for parents of individuals with ASD, virtually and in-person.
Excellent communication and time management skills are essential. Experience with delivery of presentations and/or training programs to groups is desired, along with technical skills utilizing technology and software such as PowerPoint and Zoom. The employee must be able work well independently and as part of a team.

Delaware’s leading nonprofit, private agency serving the autism community statewide seeks a parent who is fluent in both English and Spanish and who is the caregiver of a loved one with autism spectrum disorder. As such, they can bring their lived experience to bear in providing one-on-one support and education to both Spanish- and English-speaking families of children with autism. The Family Support Provider (FSP) must have leadership and partnership skills that can teach families how to get the support they need from the complex system of services that can make the day-to-day work of a parent of a child or youth with autism spectrum disorder extremely challenging, especially for those who face language barriers.
