Minimum Requirements:

— vocational DSP – starting hourly rate is $16 per hour and eligible for an hourly rate increase upon successful completion of 90 days

— residential DSP – starting hourly rate is $17 per hour and eligible for an hourly rate increase upon successful completion of 90 days

— full-time and part-time positions are eligible for sign on Bonuses

New Castle County Coordinator, Adult Services, Full-Time

The New Castle County Coordinator is responsible for providing support to personnel, participants, and families in offered programs. The Coordinator is responsible for the selection, training, and supervision of county specific staff, the safe and effective operations of services, and ensures that operations comply with all local, state and federal regulations governing such services. This individual will provide day-to-day county management services.

Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of systems and the range of vocational options available for individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorders. They must be able to share that knowledge effectively in the form of presentations, supervision, family meetings, and consultation with professionals.

Additional Qualifications:

 – At least two years’ experience preferred with children, adults and families impacted by autism spectrum disorder or other significant experience working with the disability community.

– Excellent oral, written and public communication skills.

– Strong skills in a variety of software applications.

– Strong organizational skills.

– B.A. desired. M.S. preferred

Director of Fund Development & Engagement, Full-Time

Delaware’s leading private, nonprofit agency serving individuals and families affected by autism is seeking a  Director of Fund Development & Engagement. This senior-level position reports to the Executive Director and is charged with advancing the organization’s strategic vision by setting and achieving operational goals related to engagement, philanthropy, stewardship, volunteerism, and communications.  The individual will provide direct leadership for Fund Development & Engagement staff in carrying out all fund development initiatives, including the annual fund, individual giving, corporate support, appeals, sponsorships, in-kind donations, fundraising events, grants, foundations, planned giving, and volunteer recruitment and retention.  A key member of Autism Delaware’s leadership team, this position is responsible for meeting an annual revenue target.

Advocacy Coordinator, Part-Time

The Part-time Advocacy Coordinator reports to the Executive Director, and works closely with the senior leadership team and other advocacy stakeholders in the community.  The individual in this position represents Autism Delaware and the needs of Delaware’s autism community before the General Assembly, partnering with stakeholders and state and other nonprofit agencies to bring key issues affecting the autism community before these bodies; coordinate the activities of team and stakeholder members; draft policy and position statements; and attend key committee meetings throughout the state.

Family Support Operations Manager, Part-Time or Full-Time

The Family Support Operations Manager enjoys working in a team environment as a leader who is responsible for day-to-day business operations and managing family support contracts and grant responsibilities. He/she/they serves as the Family Support liaison to Autism Delaware’s billing department, ensuring productive and efficient operations. The Operations Manager also supports staff operations, such as monitoring and approving payroll and time off requests, assisting with quality assurance and scheduling, and assisting with new hire onboarding.

He/she/they collaborates with funders to ensure continued  viability and sustainability of programs and services. This individual must be able to build positive relationships with team members, other internal departments, and community partners.

The candidate must demonstrate basic knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and ability to learn core family peer support. He/she/they must be able to share that knowledge effectively in presentations and meetings with community partners and professionals.

Proveedor de apoyo familiar bilingüe (inglés/español), a tiempo parcial

La principal agencia privada sin fines de lucro de Delaware que sirve a la comunidad del autismo en todo el estado busca un padre que hable inglés y español con fluidez y que sea el cuidador de un ser querido con trastorno del espectro autista. El proveedor de apoyo familiar (FSP, por sus siglas en inglés) debe tener habilidades de liderazgo y asociación que puedan enseñar a las familias cómo obtener el apoyo que necesitan del complejo sistema de servicios que puede hacer que el trabajo diario de un padre de un niño o joven con autismo trastorno del espectro es extremadamente desafiante, especialmente para aquellos que se enfrentan a las barreras del idioma.

Los FSP ayudan a las familias a navegar por los sistemas de servicios educativos, terapéuticos y sociales, asesoran a las familias en el desarrollo de habilidades de defensa y toman decisiones informadas, sirven como apoyo emocional y un modelo a seguir positivo para los padres y cuidadores, y trabajan con las familias para resolver problemas relacionados con el cuidado de su niño o joven. Estas tareas requieren programar reuniones periódicas con sus familias asignadas y mantener la documentación de los servicios a través de una base de datos electrónica. El conocimiento de los sistemas de servicio de Delaware y la gama de recursos disponibles es esencial. Overnight Housemate (lives in the participant’s home)

In collaboration with Autism Delaware, an organization with a mission to help people and families affected by autism, a family is seeking a caring individual interested in becoming a housemate for their son.

Description

The family is looking for the perfect candidate to live in their son’s condominium and be present from 10:00 pm when his support staff leaves until 8:00 am the next day when his staff return.  Usually, the son does not require care during the night, although he needs assistance getting ready in the morning. Unless the family is away, the candidate will have weekends off from Saturday morning to Monday evening.

In exchange for the above, the candidate will live rent-free in a condominium in Wilmington/Bellefonte, close to I-495 and I-95. They would enjoy a sizeable furnished bedroom and a private bathroom with an adjacent office/sitting room). Additional amenities include free utilities, WIFI, a personal television, washer & dryer, towels, linens, bedding, an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis /basketball court, and a small gym. The candidate will share the kitchen and other living areas with the participant and his support staff.
