During a career that spans over 35 years on the national stage, Andrea Joyce has been a trailblazer and has set the standard for sports reporting from her early days at ESPN, through nine years at CBS Sports, into her current run at NBC Sports. She has worked a wide range of sports, including college football, NFL, college basketball, NBA, WNBA, US Open tennis, and over the last three plus decades at the Olympics, gymnastics, swimming and diving, and figure skating. Next year will be Joyce’s 17th Olympic Games. She has hosted Olympic Opening and Closing ceremonies, numerous other sports shows, and was the first woman to host a college football studio show as well as the first woman to do play by play at CBS. Joyce will be inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame this December, and was also recently inducted into the Cynopsis Sports Media Hall of Fame.

 

A proud University of Michigan alum, Joyce graduated as an Angel Scholar and still bleeds maize and blue. She is married to NBC News legend Harry Smith and has two sons.
